Hauptfigur der spannend und aktionsreich erzählten Abenteuer ist der Waisenjunge Harry Potter, der über Zauberkräfte verfügt. Dabei sind Grundfragen des Lebens wie Gut und Böse zentrale Motive der gleichermaßen in realer und magischer Welt angesiedelten Geschichten.
